Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe. (Optional) Grate fresh nutmeg over the drink for garnish.

The Gin Alexander is the original version of the Alexander before it was replaced by the Brandy Alexander as our favorite cream and chocolate cocktail.
Gin and Chocolate go together surprisingly well, as we saw in the Twentieth Century Cocktail, and this drink is no exception. As with other similar cocktails, using a high quality creme de cacao is crucial for making a high quality drink.
